How IDENTIFiD Works

The IDENTIFiD ICS uses the most accurate method of identity verification available — personal biometrics. The actual information gathering technology is installed and maintained by one of our System Partners and consists essentially of a digital fingerprint scanner and a camera that photographs the iris. It is important to note that an iris photo is completely benign and is simply a conventional photograph taken with a special lens. It should not be confused with a retina scan, which is a much more invasive medical procedure.

Access to the ICS is provided through the System Partner and is usually compatible with the client's current operating system, software and scanning devices.

The new data is automatically encrypted by IDENTIFiD and registered with the ICS database. In less than two seconds, the data is screened against a "watch list" and a "known-fraud database," derived from prior attempts to commit identity fraud. The system is now ready to provide an unprecedented level of identity security for both the client and their individual members.
